It's a Virtual Run/Walk!!!
Distances:
2.21 miles (navy blue ribbon)
22.1 kilometers (black ribbon)
22.1 miles (gray ribbon)
"What's with the 221 thing?"
Sherlock lives at 221B Baker Street. We decided to be nice and not make the race distance 221 miles.
"When does the race take place?"
As long as medals are available, the race will be taking place. You have a few (ok, many) weeks to complete your distance.
"When does registration close?"
Registration will close when we sell out of registration slots.
"Do I have to run/walk it all at once? "
Nope, you sure don't. Use as many days as needed to complete your distance.
"How do you know that I completed the race?"
We believe in the honor system.
"I got injured and can't finish my distance! What do I do?"
This is for charity, bottom line. We want you to have fun and Galgos to have better lives. Drop us an email and I'm sure everything will be just fine.
"What do I get for my money?"
You get a gorgeous medal to earn and display.
"Are the medals for each race the same?"
The medals are identical for the races, but the ribbon colors are different. The ribbons say "Sherlock Run * 2.21 miles * 22.1 kilometers * 22.1 miles"
"Where does my money go?"
100% of proceeds (meaning, after costs) are used to help Galgos get homes in the US through Daphne Legacy Tour.
"What the heck is a Galgo???"
A Galgo is a Spanish Greyhound.
Borrowed from Galgos del Sol's website: "The Galgo Español or Spanish greyhound is an ancient breed and a member of the sighthound family. Despite being called a “greyhound”, the Spanish Galgo is not closely related to the English or Irish Greyhound, the lineage of the two breeds being different. Galgos are not typically considered as pet worthy in Spain and their lives end in less than humane ways either in perreras (kill stations) or abandoned to a life of persecution on the streets."
